Brake Pedal Jumps When Started Up

What would cause the brake pedal to jump when I start the car? When I get in and put my foot on the brake and start the engine the brake pedal jumps up with the revs on the initial start. It's been driving me nuts. It's a 2000 GT, M/T.

start looking into the power assist system for the brakes on the car. I believe ours is a hydroboost assist so my guess is something is broke inside it and it's not that it's leaking.

do the brakes perform well otherwise?

They seem to work fine, I don't have another Mustang to compare them to though.
