C4 Ball - Where does it go?

I was rebuilding the c4 in the 78 but then i stopped for about a month before the re-assembly. I remember when i pulled the valve body out of the transmission initially a ball bearing fell out of somewhere. I used to remember where but now i have forgotten. It is a 3/8 ball, this is not a valve body ball. Any help is appreciated.

Take a picture of the ball. I rebuilt my C4 with a kit from B&M. I think the instruction manual for the rebuild kit is at my garage. Maybe I could find out where it should go for you.
