I've already got a 00 GT w/ 74,000 miles and bolt ons but am getting bored with it and am at a cross road i love the 4v cobra such an amazing platform and amazing sound but i already own the GT and have money in it and i don't know if just supercharging it is worth it or not.

Found a nice 04 Cobra all stock for 24000 good deal or not?

I really don't know how much i could get out of my gt i wouldn't imagine much and i know i can get atleast 360rwhp from the gt with a vortech mongoose kit but a cobra has got all that power pretty much already and easily can get much more.

Help!!!!!!!!

supercharge the gt. you can stick a 32V in at a later date. i was thinking about buying an 03/04 cobra this summer, but really there is no point since I have as many mods as I do done to my gt.

only difference really is suspension, engine, tranny, seats. by the time you sell your gt, lose money on it, buy a cobra, pay the sales tax, and registration, you could have one hell of a nicely done gt.

get you a supercharger and you'll be in love all over again. had my stang for a year and a half now, and I don't ever get tired of it, i'm anxiously awaiting the day I throw in a forged shortblock, a kb 2.6 blowzilla, a brand new 6 speed RMP Tranny, and have some fun.

Oops i meant to 04 not 94..

I agree about keeping it but those 4v are amazing and im worried about daily driving because its my only car and i figured the cobra would handle the power more realibly than the gt considering i have 74000 miles on it

just depends. Terminators are badass, bulit motor, t56, etc, but the price they are going for used, you could have a nice 03-04 zo6 vette and have a better overall sports car.

The price of the whole thing is what gets me

I imagine i'll get no more than 8k for my 00 gt 5-speed bolt ons 74k miles

so that leaves another 12-16k left in money towards the cobra

12k in the Gt would make it unbelieveable

The entire point for me is this is my daily driver no matter if its a cobra or gt so reliablity while producing good hp numbers is my main objective.

2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 4.1 0-60 12.5 1/4 (chevy)
2003 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT 4.5 0-60 12.4 1/4 (MM&FF)

and on the street the 03 cobra usually edges em out, dig would be the only sketchy area

oh, cause Ive personally witnessed 12.0x at 118 from a fellow board member, and 11.9X as well.

I dont go by magazines, too many variables, and the 0-60 is the worst indicator of performance.

all bone stock cars, filter, tires, weight.
the zo6 is a faster car. and its cheaper on insurance than an 03-04 cobra

well butter my ass and call me skippy

look at the sixty foots. Think they have 4.30 gears?:rlaugh:

i wonder why top fuel drag racers don't use a 4.30 - higher's always better i hear.

Yeah 4.30's and 4.56's are awesome at the track if you have sticky slicks and the right suspension, then you get on the road where you cant use those tires and the road condition is $hit and you lose to a SRT-4 painting you bumper with rubber, or simply hit a tree exiting a corner. That aside you have to listen to the howl of 3100rpms on the freeway, with the hint of fuel pump in the background

hehe, I agree.

I dont have any seats so my fuel pump completely drowns out my dumped exhaust anyways.

I always admired the 1.7-1.8 sixty foots that vettes routinely pull at the track with stock gears and stock rubber.

anyways, Ill take this round:rlaugh: I think your still up on me a few though....

Werd, it was all the cams threads when i wan immersed in that stuff that i racked up the points in. You know i gotta try to defend the Kewbra tho man. 1.8's stock is crazy, my guess is being light helps along with having the transmission in the back placing weight on the ass. Think the best i've pulled off to date is a 1.96 (3.73's, built tranny+stall, no spare tire, KDW's at 17psi mind you) and that run i ran a 14.4X:rlaugh: so it didn't even matter

Well I had a 2004 TT 550RWHP GT, and to be honest with you I like the cobra better overall hands down. The only thing I liked better about the GT was 3rd and 4th gear @ WOT LOL.
Overall the cobra is a much better car IMO...drives ALOT better and the seats are MILES ahead...and I LOVE the IRS. I cant believe they opted for solid on the new GT500s.
