Ok well I just drove back home to Charleston, WV from Cincinnati. For those of you who want to do cams but are afraid of losing gas mileage, take my advice: DO IT! Seriously, I have lost NO fuel economy with my 262's. I drove the 4 hour trip on a little over 1/2 of a tank of gas with the a/c on, and trust me, I tested the cars new-found power quite a few times on my way home...no difference in mileage. When I drove the car up there from home it took the same amount of gas. Not that fuel economy should be a concern anyway....WE DRIVE MUSTANGS.
As for the power the cams added, the only way that I can explain it is that it feels like some kind of super vtec kicks in between 4500-5000 rpms. Except unlike vtec, this ISN'T gey. It starts to pull like crazy right about the time that it USED to fall flat on its face. Oh...and the lope sounds awesome. I'll have vids up sometime soon, but I bought one of those throw-away digital video cams, so I don't want to have it developed until it's full.....shouldn't take me long
In conclusion, cams are awesome, and they don't hurt mileage (atleast the 262's don't). Get 'em!
