i ran the codes and this is what i got. i may have more but we got confused with all of the codes 90118 90155 90174 90113 maybe 90115 i know one was about the o2 heater circuit but that has been like that forever now and i haven't got any money to fix it yetit won't go over 2200 rpms if i stomp the gas without cutting out severly. only if i ease on the gas it will go over that. it is a 95 with a 5 spd that has had the rear of the car fully under water. i already dropped the fuel tank but have not replaces the fuel filter yet. it is drinking gas like an 871 blown 460 with dual 800 carbs on it.
the O2 heater malfunction is showing a lean-burn condition therefore if you change them they will reset the mixture(hopefully) then your gas usage will go down
i had a thought a few days ago about maybe the plugs getting fouled by the water and yesterday i did a compression test and accidentally broke 2 plugs. i replaced them and the car runs so much better. so now i need 4 new plugs and the 50 dollar rear o2 sensor.
the o2 code was something like 41, but these codes came off of the autozone's handheld codereader and the screen showed those numbers, not a simple 41
i replaced the spark plugs again and it runs a lot better, but it still cuts out barely at around 2800 rpm. i am going to try to clean out the fuel filter as much as i can and then go from there. it also hesitates for about 1-2 seconds when revved up fast from an idle. i am pretty sure there are no vacuum leaks either. they plug wires are in good shape too. i see no arcing at night. it did not run like this before when only the o2 sensor was bad. i did notice that my driver's side exhaust manifold is cracked on the 6 cylinder from when that exhaust pip jammed into the ground. i did not notice it before because that side of the exhaust was already leaking. anybody got any ideas. i have heard that maybe the tps needed to be reset if it hesitated when revved like it does. this car is eating my gas away big time.
Do you have a check engine light on? is your MAF connected? lol. Some v6's will run without the maf and 02 sensor connected...they just run like crap.
everything is connected and i have had the engine light on for over 3 months due to the bad 02 heater circuit. but it has ran way better than it is now before it was wrecked into the bayou. today it took 4 tries to start the car. it usually takes a secound. on the 4th try, it took about 5 seconds to start and when it did, i smelled raw fuel. that was after the new plugs. i have an extra fuel regulator that i am going to install to see if that helps any.
well i got an update on the car. i decided to pull the injectors and clean them out. i found all kinds of crap in them. i got most of it out with a needle and cleaner, i put them on and also put a spare fuel reg. on and ran the car. it ran way better and only cut out at around 4000 rpms instead of 2500. i cleaned the fuel filter and it ran 100% better and was getting second gear scratches and stuff but that lasted for 10 minutes and then went back to cutting out at around 3100rpm. i should have just tried to get a new fuel filter instead of cleaning it. it may have knocked some crud loose. well it really doesn't matter because tomorrow i am going to where i have some spare injectors if i can find them and don't run out of gas going there. peace out
