Well, I finally got tired of looking at the ugly bare valve covers and decided to paint them. I had planned on doing this when I did my cam swap but I didn't have time. I used a "Black Wrinkle Finish" made by VHT. It gives it that textured look like the FRPP valve covers. For less than $20, including primer and sandpaper, I think they turned out pretty good. Sorry for the poor quality of some of the pics.

That looks great! I know most people go for the bling of chrome and color matching but you can never go wrong with a nice black paint job on engine parts. Keeps things neat and clean looking.

Great work. I love the textured look you gave them!

Beats $250 for FRPP black valve covers. Plus if you are going to port your heads you can do the timing chain cover to match. Also thinking you can get a machine shop to hot tank them first.
