    Hey,
I am considering a new purchase and was hoping to get some input.
Would you buy a GT500 or one of the 300 (or 350) limited edition Shelby Southern California GT's (the grabber orange w/ silver stripe signed by Shelby with a plate identifying which prodution number it is)? In 20 years will people be conserned with the uniquness of the SC special edition, or the horse power of the GT500? There is about $8000 difference between the two (if the GT500 is purchased at sticker). Your thoughts?

GT500 all the way. Unless you plan on wrapping it up and storing it away for 20+ years as a collector car you'll get a hell of a lot more enjoyment out of the GT500! That's of course if you can get one a sticker.

I must agree GT500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have the ability I can't think of a single reason not to get a GT500.

Nope, Shelby GT and then spend $13,000 on forced induction mods. :)

Warranty yes, resale no. You pull all that crap off if and when you really want to sell it. :)

Well.. I have an SGT.. so..

Go for the 500.. Those things are just mean. :nice: After seeing the GT500 in "I Am Legend," I would definately go for one. :D

But, you will need to buy lowering springs and some prettier rims.. :hide:

Not if you get all the parts installed by Shelby (the future resale value that is). Have Shelby install the HO Whipple or Paxton and you'll be all set in the power department.

The warrenty, to me at least, would have to be based upon how much you drive it. I drive less than 5k miles/year so its not a big deal. If you're putting on 20k miles/year, then I'd say it becomes much more important.

I'm a bit biased, so you can guess which one I'd choose...

Either way, can you really go wrong? :D

    Thanks to everyone who responded.
I pulled the trigger and ordered a GT500.
I got all the options except the DVD navigation system (you can't get that and the S1000).
I am in SoCal and most dealers are holding to $10,000 over MSRP, but I found one dealer who had already sold 2 GT500's at sticker (some guy in Canada bought both of them).
I ordered vapor silver with an ebony stripe (I hope it looks like Eleanor).
I went through the Internet Sales Manager who said it should be 6-8 weeks.
They are going to give me the build sheet and the original invoice.
This is a big purchase for me (even at MSRP) so I really appreciate all of your thoughts. There shouldn't be too much buyers remorse. I also decided to keep my 01 GT convertible.
    Thanks again.
