Help Headers

ok, I got my bbk long tube headers i jacked the motor up, and removed everything needed to complete installation. and i am still having tons of trouble with header clearance. They just won't bolt in. drivers side collector is hitting tranny, and passanger side K-member is in the way. The directions that came with the headers are not helping. this is my 2nd set of headers i have tried to install, so if anyone has any advice i NEED it. before i smoke my self to death!

You know that one side you have to come in from the bottom and the other from the top, right? I've taken out and intalled my BBK long tubes twice, and haven't had any problems. Do you have the motor jacked up enough?

cutting them might help if you have the kind that seperate the headers from the collector

I'm not joking. Smack those things into place. Tip the motor a bit to gain extra clearance

Longtubes are about as difficult to install as you are experiencing.

Took me 3 days to install my long tubes.

But in the end the easiest thing was the unbolt the engine, jack it up high and pull out anything you humanly can to get them in there.

I also beat on the floor pans a little. Oh and grinded some of the bellhousing.

Heh, the result is worth it though.

only took me about 2 hours to install mine......i carbed my car though.....the passenger side is what sucks!
