Besides having the Boss block how is this different than the 450 hp engine they sold last year for about $6,600. I think I would start with a Dart block and then piece an engine together from there. Price seems to be a little high to me.

That looks like a sweet set up, but like always Ford is pricey. You could build samething for less, going aftermarket.

In this month's Hot Rod magazine, there is a crate motor comparison with a 331 Boss from Ford Racing. It dynoed at 530 horsepower @ 7,200 rpm/407 ft lbs of torque. I don't know what it costs, but it sounded pretty cool.

I saw that too, it was on 91 octane. Impressive numbers if you ask me

I thought we cleared this up already...

it does have shorter skirts then any other aftermarket block and stock block.

I think it's interesting to note the intake valve size is 2.02. I seem to remember the 69 '02 was a 2.23 and the 70 '02 was a 2.19 intake valve. Nothing like admitting 40 years later that your intake was between .17" and .21" too big. And this is a 347 cid!!

But at the bottom of a cylinder WALL they're called SKIRTS.
