What do you think? I know the black would be the first to come to some ppl's minds. Or perhaps Mystichrome? Perhaps Sonic Blue? I personally think Laser Tint Red wins this one. Why? First of all, like black, it looks like @ss when dirty. It's a very deep color but looks dull when dusty. But unlike black, what makes laser red really tough to keep looking fresh/new is the fact it seems to fade a lot more easily than any other color. You all know what I'm talking about. 90% of laser red SN95s look metallic pink. I've already seen many 99-02s looking rather faded as well. IMO laser red cars should be garaged and kept out of the sun as much as possible. Mine's been daily driven for years, and I keep it parked in the shade while at work. So far, it's still too early to tell how Redfire will look since it's still a fairly new color. Since it is a darker red I imagine it won't suffer from metallic pink syndrome as badly as many laser red cars have been inflicted with. What do you think?
white is the worst in maintenance. regardless of all other opinions out there, ALL stains show on WHITE and plus... i've seen white-yellowish unmaintained mustangs. i have to wipe my car down every 2-3 days. also, my white wheels are a MAGNET for visible brake dust. especially when running the car through puddles or water, the brake dust will cake and stick on them for a nice visible muddy brown/black
gotta vote for black. I'm not sure about the long term maintaince, but it takes the cake for daily maintaince. dust shows up sooooooo easy. Although, after a nice wash, you can't beat the looks. But it only takes a mile of driving to start showing dirt again. It isn't gonna stop me from buying another black mustang pretty soon though
I didn't think white would be mentioned this often. Silver is a great color for a daily driver IMO. Mineral Grey and DSG seems to be low maintenance as well. Anything yellow is great during pollenated springtime. But I think we can all agree the 99-04 rear bumpers magnetically attracts dirt and dust.
yeah, white is the color your supposed to buy if you dont wanna wash your car. Oh, and the dust on rear bumper applies to early sn-95's too
so what do you guys think is the LOWEST maintenance color? i vote mineral grey, because you can't tell its dirty unless you're right up on it
i'm zinc yellow and my brother is true blue. i think i have the harder time staying clean, i.e no bugs, tire shine sling off, i fully agree on the back bumper though, takes maybe a mile or driving for it to look like crap lol. i have 34 miles of highway driving 6 days a week but i also wash it 1-3 time a week depending..
Werd, my car always looks clean - it takes work for it to look dirty, and even then it still looks clean from a few feet away, haha.
Yeah I absolutely LOVE black, but I hate it with a passion as well. I can spend 5 hours washing, claybaring, washing, polishing, waxing and it'll look just splooge-clean. 1 Hour later I can walk out regardless of where it's parked..garage, outside, in a vacuum filtered room, there will be a thin layer of dust and pollen on it that already dulls the color slightly. Black and White are by far the worst colors to keep clean and shiny...At least black shows off how much care and time you put into it, white can be polished for 10 hours straight and still not look as good as a clean black car IMO. That deep wet glossy look is pure sex.
Ive had a black Bronco and 2 black Maximas..... Black shows every scratch and swirl, water spots and dust. My 1st stang was white, and now I got a yellow one, both are very forgiving colors.
I say true blue is right up there with black for highest maintenance.... same problems as black, but with all the metallic paint problems as well. I've owned both and the black was actually more forgiving than my true blue. It hid the dirt, chips and scrapes better.... once you put true blue in any light, it is impossible to make it look perfectly clean.
