i THINK that covers most of it. i'm sure i have forgotten a few things

When I was 19 I didn't have two nickels to rub together let alone spend 2 g's on my car.

Been working since I was 14 to save up enough to buy a Mustang. Had my goals dead set on it. Almost had one when I was 16 but I was new to the whole buying cars from a dealer thing and made a bad choice in letting that one go... 2 years later it came around though (not the same car).

I put about $2,000 of my own money into my car but the previous owner probably put about $3,000 into without labor because he did everything himself and now I have done just about everything myself.

Tommorow will be my cars 7th month anniversary. I got the car from the orginal owner with 37,000 miles, bone stock and perfect shape. When I got it I told myself that I would pace myself on getting mods but no, that didnt happen. I went 2 days before I started modding LOL and I havent been able to stop since. So far I have already spent around $3000 and still have a few more things on the list to get before I go to college. Damn the mod bug and thank you hyatt

I've probably spent well over $15k cash, but after selling mods and trading, I'm guessing around $12-14k. I can't imagine how much it would have been if I wasn't a skilled mechanic with the appropriate tools, lol....

I'm still up in the air if I should get kicked in the ass and sell the car for less money than I'm in for....or keep it and spend more cash on it BLAH! If I saved for just a month I would have a motor...then another a set of wheels/tires...then another a full fuel system...again..........BLAH :p

i have around 3000$ canadian into my car......i will really get going on the mods when i al done college(i havent even started yet)....i could have bought a supercharger but i spent the money on tuiton instead.....im only 17 and i think ive done pretty good so far:)

Somewhere around 12 grand - including rims, tires and the occasional trans rebuild :) Only thing saving me is having a Dad who's a master tech who owns every tool imaginable (including a lift). Say goodbye to labor costs!

for me... we'll see...
PI intake $75
Comp Cams $350
Rims $650
Tires $500
Springs $50
Tint $380
Hood $180
Stereo $500
Pulleys $100
Shifter $80
Lights and fogs $150
Exhaust $200
Gears $20
Subframes $200

About $3400.00 give or take...

also more then I thought.... however I have found things for extremely cheap and jumped on them, so I have gotten alot of value in the price :)

I also am a mechanic so I don't pay for labour...

I have about 5-6K in performance and about 4K (lots was left over from old car) in stereo / Interior mods. Now on tools and maintenance I've spent a mess load.....damn tires and fluids really add up.

But this poll is not worth it. It does not take into consideration what people paid for their car. A GT vs Mach vs Cobra vs Saleen/Roush have huge price and stock performance difference. 5K into a GT that cost 23K is different the 5K into a cobra that costs 30+K.

I think the poll should be how much total mods + car have you spent!

I have spent $13k on mods for the cobra. I have spent over $25k if I count the money I spent on mods for my two 5.0s. It comes with the territory though, about $16k more into the cobra I will be finished. As you get older though its harder to justify spending that kind of money on just a toy.

Mongoose Kit ...................$3700
Vortec BPV .......................$ 300
VT Shortblock and Cams ...$4000
Paxton A/A IC ...................$1500

X Pipe and Catback ..........$750
JBA LT Headers ................$800
Gears ...............................$200
Cobra Tank and Pumps ....$1000
8 Rib Kit with Pulley .........$675
SCT Tuner ........................$300
Installation of parts .........$2800
Dyno Tunes .............. ......$800
Running 11s......................Priceless

TOTAL: $17,025

Note: Every thing was bought brand new and this doesn't include tires, rims and stereo upgrades.

Wow Im gonna go cry myself to sleep now.

JEEZZZ! UMMM..........WOW!

I only spent 2K on my old GT after my PI swap and a
few bolt on's.
So far I spent 40K+ on my STI with my turbo kit and supporting mods. :nice:
I have done all the labor on my cars since I am a Master Subaru
Technician.
