Well ok, it's not a beater... It's an incredibly rare 1990 Audi Coupe Quattro. I can't get a firm number on the amount that were brought over to North America, but I know that it is under 2000 units. They were only sold in 1990 and 1991. I have some pictures (crappy ones) that I will get up in a bit. For now, here are some from Google As for the engine: 2.3l Inline 5 DOHC 170bhp @ 6000RPM 160tq @ 4000RPM It's no superhero, but it will get me around in the snow
Oh man, those Quatro's are actually really fun to drive. Congrats on the purchase, looks to be in decent shape for its age. My next DD will have to be AWD. Now, go find some snow and do some AWD doughnuts!
I should note that those pictures are not of the car I bought...they are only there until I can get the ones I took of it up. Mine is actually white, and it has no front bumper...(a good excuse for an S2 front fascia)
Great purchase man! Audi's have come along way....not sure about how far they'd come in 90, but they sure are helluva good cars today!
Very nice acquisition for the snow my friend! As I look out the window at the white stuff right now (in Tucson!), I can imagine it will be quite handy! Enjoy!
Winter Shots: yeah I need a front valance The Quattro is incredible. You can toss it around the corner like the stang, and the rear will still swing out...but as soon as you touch the throttle the car instantly corrects. I'm incredibly impressed. I knew Audi had a good AWD system, but this is something else. Interior Shots (night) The middle number is the time the car has been running. This can be changed to instantaneous gas mileage, average gas mileage, miles til empty, miles driven so far...etc. It's pretty advanced for a 1990 The stock gauges make our stock gauges look like crap. From left to right, voltage, oil pressure, oil temp. Above, is the digital climate control: Sorry for the quality Some other cool things: when you lift up the door handle, it activates the heated door locks. headlight washers rear window wiper rear differential lock (switch on or off) heated seats, heated mirrors probably some other things that are escaping me at the moment I guess I can't do the car justice without showing you axle doughnuts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Tp3nNm98_g
How Much? I need a new beater, my 93 escort is almost toast. Sure it gets 27mpg but it needs brakes, tires, shocks, a radio, the trunk/rear leaks so everything on the floor turns to mold.... I got mine for free though driving it sucks balls.
haha that vid is ridiculous. Audi/VW makes good cars and their awd system is great. I had an '86 VW quantum for my first car, and it was an absolute tank in the snow. unfortunately for the car i decided to use it for mud bogging and field driving once summer came around and the back wheel sheared off at the axle lol.
that looks like a sweet rod you got there. a tech that works over at our vw shop has a 90's sumthin A6 with the turbo'd 5 juicer--i love that thing
