master brake cylinder and resovior

i cant figure out how to get the resovoir off the old master cylinder
i can see how it snaps in and out but cant get it free from old one
i see plastic getting white like its gonna break
anyone got any help for this>

I put my Mst Cyl in a vice so that the reservoir was just above the jaws of the vice and then stuck a larger screwdriver between the jaws and the reservoir and lifted upward on just one side of the reservoir to release the reservoir from the Mst Cyl.

The Ford shop manual says to do it this way if you’re interested?
