@102.29mph. Crap, I ran against a highly modded Trans-Am, cut a better RT but lost by a whisker. Two words: automatic. If I would have had a manual, I could squeezed out more and won. Here is a link to the video on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FSxYM-brjI
Good job!!!!! I thought you could squeeze out some 13.6s easy. Now to break into the 13.5s! Drop a tenth off your 60' time and your're there. Below is the slip from my quickest run(car #42). The other Stang was a manual, but I never spoke with him to see what/if any mods he had on his car. The huge difference in reaction times had no impact on the ET as this was a test and tune, so either lane did not start timing until we tripped the beam. There was one run where two 11 sec Stangs lined up, one left a few seconds before the other. One ran an 11.0 to the others 11.1. Hell, here's the video from that run as well...I wasn't running the Flows here due to I swapped them back with the stock mufflers. Flows had broken baffles that buzzed horrible under 2000 RPM!!!!! New Flows are back on now however
Thanks. What's DA? Density Altitude? I think I could slip into the 13.5 range if I were to run in 60 degree temp. My best times seem to correlate with temp. 1st outing: 75 degrees, best time 13.867 2nd outing: 72 degrees, best time 13.740 3rd outing: 70 degrees, best time 13.682
Yeah, that is a great time Kooldawg and where I would like to be right now. I think my next step is buying an extra set of wheels and putting Mickey Thompson Street ETs on them. Then changing the tires when I go to the strip. But I will need a jack and a torque wrench too.
i ran again last night at the local 1/8th mile. i got 3 runs in: 8.80@83.68, 8.80@83.35, 8.83@82.97. my 60 ft times were nearly identical as well: 2.14, 2.15, 2.16. i am running pretty consistent now, but i wish i was a little faster. i have been running the normal 32 psi in the tires, mostly because i want to see if my driving is getting any better and dont want to add another variable in there yet. i may try a lower pressure next time. i think my track is a little slow, because i have only seen one S197 run faster than me, but that was last year. he ran 8.60s with SN95 size drag radials. looked real funny with those shorter tires on there.
thanks! i have not seen many slips from other manual GTs to compare my times to. also, the 1/4 conversion chart from my dragstrip must be way off, because it said 8.60s were 14.0 sec. 1/4s, but from the timeslips i have seen, it should be somewhere between 13.0 and 13.5. http://midamericamotorplex.com/2006/pdf/forms/DragStripForms/E._T._Time_Conversions.pdf
