Ok heres the story i have been reading about the mustangs OD and clusters.
From 1995 -1998 you could change the cluster from a junk yard if you want to,Very easy to do and maybe you can get one with low miles lol.
From 1999 -2004 mustangs GTs with 5 speed you can change your cluster but the car will not start and the same miles from the computer will stay on your new cluster.Unless you disconnect the cable on the transmision no miles will show up,But you will have no speedo ,no cruse control and your engine light will go on.But no miles will go on your car keeping it under warrenty.then plug back in you cable when you want to and the check engine will go off in a few days unless you disconnect the battery for a few mins.Hope ford will correct this problem,i know on the expensive cars they have something to show if the OD was messed with,but not on the mustangs.Hope the 2005 will correct the OD problems so nobodys gets screwed.....
