Im just about done doing a general tune up on my 87 GT. Where the hell is the PCV? I looked quickly and didn't see it. The part i picked up form the store looks to be the type that fits into the valvecover, but no such thing exists on my stang.

Can someone shed some light?

It's the part thats circled. On the back of the lower intake. It can be a pain in the ass to get to. Theres also a screen underneath the PCV that you should change too.

It looks like this.

The one for the valve cover could be for a 4.6. The PCV is on the driver's valve cover on my Cobra.

And I will second that, it is hard to get to on a 5.0, especially with the stock intake.

The 5.0 PCV valve looks like a conventional valve cover mounted PCV valve.

Also, while renewing the screen (called a breather at the parts stores), replace the grommet. Motorcraft PCV valves fit best (some aftermarket stuff wont stay seated in the grommet).

The first time I did a PCV valve on a 5.0, I had to lay across the engine compartment (I'm 6' but still could not lean in far enough to see it otherwise). Once you have seen it, you swap it by feel thereafter.

Good luck.
