got any pics of that setup ... are the mufflers "offset" (one farther away from the engine than the other)? my drone is starting to annoy me

Im telling you guys, Borla Pro XS are some of the best mufflers, even with no cats it very humble at idle and nice throaty while cruising never giving the impression thats there's more noise than power and when you hammer it it's MUSIC WAY BETTER THAN ANY MAGNAFLOWS I have ever heard and they flow better than most other mufflers to boot!

So you mean to tell me that the MAC mufflers i have now are only 7-8db quieter than the quietest on the list??? What about the Hush mufflers by Flowmaster?

No need to offset them in any way. Their internal design removes the drone. They are humble rumble while cruizing , then WOT goes to straight thru pipes as all the air flows with no restriction.. At WOT they are loud and sound wicked.

Back to the OP tho - To summarize - if you don't care about drone and want quiet and less expensive, go super-turbo, 50 series delta flow (better than nearly all on drone too) or one of the other mufflers mentioned on this site - as they are quiter WOT and cruizing. If drone is the issue, corsa mufflers are made for it, period. They are quieter at idle and cruizing but sound great!

7-8 db is a lot. Remember, every 10db is double the sound. So 80db is twice as loud as 70db. I have Dynomax Ultra flows. They are nice and quiet until you get on it.

I say go with stock exhuast. Just figure out a way to offset the power and then you got yourself a sleeper :D I'm definitely going as quiet as possible whenever I finish my setup.

Yeah I can see why they police like you.

I have heard clips of the FRPP catbacks and they sound quiet and mean... However they restrict down to a 2.25" pipe jsut before and after the mufflers... but should still flow plenty for you...

I had a dynomax super turbo on a v6 dakot and it was pretty quiet... I would try that...

Hahaa those lights aggravate you guys that bad huh?? Maybe thats why im getting tickets!!!! Cops are like...."look at this @$$hole with euro lights on his stang"!!!

I have High Flow MAC cats...but they're on a H pipe designed for a 87-93 Fox. So i have to cut and re-weld them into the new pipe. I'll try that and get back to you guys with a updated sound clip.

The cats will really help to quiet the car. I'm in a similar boat right now with my cobra. Due to our autocross locations sound limits are being enforced this year and in addition I'm beginning to hate a loud car. Right now I'm running 1-5/8" shorties into a 2.5" offroad X pipe with a stock cat back that has 154K miles on it and its on the loud side. I just picked up GMKILLR's old cat back that is 2.5" with magnaflow mufflers. I have a decision to make though right now and that is do I want to keep the off road pipe or put a MAC high flow cat pipe I have too on the car. My problem is that once I make up my mind it will be hard to switch as I have to modify the exhaust to clear my MM torque arm and the cat-back and H/X need modified.
