Just got done restoring my brothers headlights on his mystic cobra. Pictures don't do it justice, those things were nasty!!! Been doing auto detailing for 15 years and headlights for about 5 years. Really take pride in my work, feels great when they come out better than new. Saved him about 150 bucks, since he was about to order new ones.

The process depends on what shape they are in. For mildly bad ones, start with wet sanding with 1000 grit, then 2000. Then I buff out with a good compound or headlight cleaner. Finish up last with a few polish coats of meguirs plasticx.

Some headlights take 10 min. each, some take an hour or longer. If you notice a layer of crud still on there after your done and they don't look perfect, u might have to repeat the process and spent more time with the 1000 grit. If anyone doesn't have the tools or isn't sure they want to try it, let me know and I can do them for you.
