I just read an article in the newspaper that the cops are pissed about this jammer. They are saying it works, and they are not happy about it. The whole article made it sound good, and it wasn't an ad. This was in the boston globe. So should I buy one? I already have a V1, and this thing doesn't detect, just jams and is supposed to be used with a detector. Does anyone have any experience with this thing?
It has been proven by many TV shows (20/20 and others) that it works but at a distance of 10 feet or less. The company moved to it's new location due to the numerous lawsuits and fraud complaints. I think were originally in AZ and moved to TX? Anyway, they have had several independant tests run and at now time did any of their products work. Seems the FCC has issues with them as well. As well as others concerning their "Ticket Reimbursment". Seems that it has never and will never happen. Better off getting a Passport or something similiar.
I think it was another case of a reporter not doing enough research. I have heard only bad things about the whole Phazer line up. This is just the latest incarnation. I mean you must ask yourself. If 80 reports say it's worthless. And the only person who says it's flawless. Is the man selling it... Or if it is sooo good. Why aren't any magazines testing it?

Here's my understanding. So take it as you will. If you think the cop is only going to aim at your lights. Then maybe that coating will do some good. But most of what I have read. States that since your whole car is a glossy surface. Unless you happen into some of the military's stealth coating paint. You most likely aren't going to get enough protection. And since everything that the military has that is Stealth is painted black. I would not think a stealth coating that is advertised as "lighter color". Would be very effective. And your windshield is another large reflective surface. That you won't paint. Then you have to look at the legality of painting your license plate. Which I think they tend to frown upon.
Front license plate is the preferred target (it's flat and reflective). Headlights are another juicy target. That's why I have no front plate on my Camaro (even though it's required in Colorado).
While it may be the preferred target. There are a lot of reflective parts to most cars. Every cop with a laser around here seem to be on the onramps. So they must target the back of cars here.
For license plates, you should use a laser diffuser license plate cover like Lasershield. VEIL will effective reduce the clocking distance of laser from 3000' to anywhere from 500' to 800', depending on the car. A windshield is not a refective enough surface for laser, nor is the paint on a car until you are withing 300' of the gun. The object of laser jammers, VEIL, and laser diffusing license plate covers is to foil or jam the gun until you are within a fairly close distance to the officer so that you have ample time to slow down and avoid a speeding ticket. Get it?
