Should I Retard Valve Timing?

So I got a cam that's just a HAIR bigger than my comp. ratio would like.. But we'll give it a go. I like top end power anyways. But 3 grand to 7 grand is a bit much for me. I like cutting it off at 6200; 6500 at most. I retarded the cam to get the p to v clearance "I" wanted which was more than .1" on both sides. Think this will give less power? Longer to wrap up in rpm? Lose more static compression? Based on low compression + big cam.. What's gunna happen...??

P.S. I would like to gain a little more torque low end but I don't think the high duration will allow it to build up enough compression. Especially if I retard the timing, right?
