Well i'm not really up on my imports as far as engine types go but i know what they are. A guy that normally drives a Black right side drive Sylvia came out with a green Skyline GT-R last night. Said he had 500rwhp out of it. He's actually a real nice guy, probably 20 or so. He's better than most of the Corvette dicks that are out there. i looked under the hood of this thing and there was a turbo the size of a watermelon under there  . It was an 84mm :jaw: . His first pass wasn't too hot, he ran a 13.6 @ 112. i was kinda thinking I was getting the old smoke blown up my rear until i saw his next pass. 13.2 @ 122mph!!!!! The 13.2 wasn't impressive but 122mph!!!! Holy #$@%! The only problem was he blew a spark plug right out his block :nonono: . He was running 30#'s of boost. That car was not set up for that kind of punishment. Turbo has way too much lag, needs nitrous to get him off the line. I'd hate to race him from a roll though. Pretty cool car, too bad he had to wreck it. My best run last night was only a 12.7. I beat my buddies nitrous 5.0, another buddies 03 KB GT, and a Harley. The harley only ran a 16.XX :nonono: . I got videos of all of them, just got to find a better host than photobucket.

Here's the vids, yes they suck quality wise but i can't seem to get them any bettter.

I even hit the brakes hard at the top end to not break out. We're racing again this afternoon so we'll see what else i can come up against. No video today though, wife can't come out and video.

The problem with the skyline is the size of the turbo. He would probably be faster with a smaller one. It would spool way faster than that monster he had on there. Even go with smaller twin turbos. Pretty cool car, must have felt even cooler drving away on the tow truck.

fo sho.

but most have eleventy billion HP and still run 12s :notnice:

10 second one in hawaii ;).

They have IRS and a small well and can only fit a (forgot the size) small tire in the rear without extensive work. Not really setup for drag racing.

i was debating buying an r32 nissan skyline gtr spec V. $40k had all the work done. decided that a grey market car would be too much of a handful, but it'd be cool owning a car that's not in the u.s.

eh whatever believe the hype but truth is most of these 10 year old Supras running around will smoke most of us on here. The ones that are set up properly easily run 10's in the 1/4.

but most are setup for highway or roll racing. thus why they run ****ty from a stop. just like the saying goes, "what does a 300hp and a 900hp supra have in common? 12 seconds". but yeah, when theyre setup right, theyre in the double digits or less, but at that point theyre not daily driveable and/or trailer queens.

i just love it when all these crazy hopped up big block musclecars are trailered to the track by middle aged men, and here comes these 24 year old kids with 03/04 cobra daily driven, and the cobras run better times and have a few boltons, and drive there and away under their own power. makes my day, especially since i pick up my 03 Redfire Cobra this week.

Tweeked-It sounds like track conditions and humidity
is what was ruining peoples' times.
With the right parts a Skyline can be very quick just depends on the driver really.
I rarely ever see "real" Skyline GTR's because they are all imported from Japan so very few will see US soil.
Sounds like you had a nice day at the track! :nice:
