About a month ago my car started squeaking when I turned the wheel and while going over bumps. I wasn't too concerned because I thought it was the sway bar but today I realized that the steering wheel no longer centers itself when I let go of it. I jack the car up and, grasping from the top and bottom of the tire (12 and 6 o'clock), there's no play in it. From side to side (3 and 9 o'clock), the wheel and the entire brake hub assembly has a good amount of play. What do you guys think it could be causing this? From other threads I've read it's most likely the outer tie rods but I've also heard it could be the inner tie rods or the ball joints. Any help would be appreciated.
