I'm paying 13,9XX for it, which I don't think is bad at all. It still has some factory warrantly left, too.

Haha, yea, I already looked into that. I can't imagine why they sell chip tuners and the whole bit for a car that starts at 9.X 0-60 times. But, I have to say, I do love the car.

I drove a couple Foci, but really, it just felt like an economy car. I told my girlfriend I felt like I could have dissassembled the dash with my bare hands. The Fusion is much more solid. The doors make that "thunk" noise when you shut them. The Focus doors more "clank".

My girl drives an 02 Focus and although its great for her to tool around in and she thinks its "cute" I really cant stand it.

I stopped by the Ford dealer where I used to work and they have a BEAUTIFUL 2009 Fusion with the Sport Appearance Package in Silver Birch with Dark Charcoal leather. The best part is that you can now get the SAP without the tacky red seat inserts! Its just a sportier leather seat that is AMAZING. If I end up going back there to work like I have been considering, it will be mine.

Friend of mine had a Fusion for a rental for the weekend we were in St. Louis for the last WFC before it moved to Indiana. It seemed like a pretty solid car all-around, looked nice, was quiet and comfy, and it moved along pretty good even with all four of us in it. I wouldn't mind one for a DD, honestly ... but I'd hope that it would do better than 24 MPG, considering I can get that with a 5.0 Mustang.

I just picked up a 07 mazda six two weeks back. the six is a sister car to the fusion and the mercury milan. I love driving it, handles and performce so much nicer than any toyota, nissan or honda i have ever driven. Congrats on the purchase!

24 mpg just around town (inner city Indianapolis). Like I said, 30+ highway.

Well, gotta find a decent commuter car that's somewhat sporty to give to my sister as a present. Looking to spend about $4500 or less. Whatcha got (for ideas)?

You might be able to find an older Focus 3-door in that price range. Cavaliers (gasp) are actually pretty decent little cars. An older Z-24 could be had for cheap.

2 door svt focus...although Ill admit Id rather have another brand 4cyl...but sounds like your set on ford....if your going with a plaing jane base model car I wouldnt get the focus....ever thought about a pickup? a 2wd ranger is cheap and a bed is very usefull to have....maybe a
4wd? Not as good on gas mileage but better than the vic. FWIW Rangers are pretty tough...I swear the Ford Ranger is the Drunk Drivers/Alcoholics "choice bar cruiser" as every alky I know has one and has ran in to everything and still keeps goin. I say check out a ranger..built like tanks and its a truck
