T5 Bellhousin WC VS 3550

What's the difference between the bellhousings? Can they be interchanged? I have a 3550 in my 89 conv. and want to put it in my 85 stroker project. I have taken trans out and left bell with clutch in. Going back with WC trans in convertible. Will this work or just pull bell out?

Tremec 3550 & T5 use a different bellhousing.The Tremec 3550 uses the same bellhousing as the old 4 speed SROD toploader trans.
