For those that are in 80 or above temps., what size thermostat are you using and what mixture of anti-water ? On a trans temp gauge what is the ideal temp I should be running.
Ashamedly I am currently running without a thermostat and a 50/50 mix, but I just got in my braided SS hose kit, so I will be putting a 180 in there at the same time.
I run a 160 Tstat and about 50/50 mix. My brother is using Water Wetter with 100% water which lowered his temp a little. I need to flush soon; I think I will switch to that. I've heard 180* is a safe range for a tranny. My stock FMX constantly ran in the 195-215 range and never had a problem. I have just installed a higher stall converter and a B&M Super Cooler and it has not gotten over 160*.
So for those of you running less than a 50/50 mix in varying climates I have a question. Is this just for running, or do you do actually winter store it that way too? I'd be afraid to run any less than a split in a New England winter.
