Exhaust is probably the slowest part. Drive shaft is fast. Since you don't have to REMOVE the tranny, you can still do it easily on a garage floor. Just get the front as high as you can, to have room to work. Lower the tranny down, change the converter, and raise it back up. You won't need to take it off the jack.
 

+1... you have to at least get it that high. Beg/borrow/steal a tranny jack - dem mofos is heavy.

Mines in the background. I leave the rear wheels on the ground. I also have BIG jack stands. I don't trust those little ones like you have. :o
