V8 Tranny

Will a V8 tranny work with my 4 banger motor. If so, what all would I need to do to swap it, besides the bell housing and clutch. im driving this around do to the gas problems, and I would like to not hear my engine whinning when i peg the needle.

You will have to mill down the input shaft. I am looking into doing the same thing. I know the trans is heavier than the 4banger one.

Do you have one or are you looking at this point?

well I have 3. I have the one from my 85, I have one from a 92, and one from a 95.

Couldnt I just swap out the input shafts?

I dont think they are inter changeable. I have 2 Merkur Auto 86 Trannys want to trade 2 for one lol??
