Thanks! now my next question is how does that effect the cars value?

Not a whole lot, you can actually tell the insurance its a 4cyl because of the vin number and get cheaper insurance. Not sure if you want to do that though.

If the car was clean, ran great, I would have no problem spending money on a 5.0 swap as i would an original 5.0.

hard to say.. how well was the swap done?

was EFI retained?

can u visually/mechanically tell it used to be a 4 banger at all?

the 5.0 fox cars sell for WAY more than any listed value for them... IMO if the car is a complete swap done to factory type specs... it would make no difference in my willingness to pay what the market price of a 5.0 in the same condition is.

This car is real clean and has every bolt on except brake upgrades. Full drag suspension W/k member, built 306 with H/C/I and a 200 wet kit. Looks like it was built right and well taken care of. The guy wanted$10500 and I got him down to 9K is it too much?

Sounds fine, i wouldnt be worried about it being a factory 4cyl, even if it was a factory 5.0 to build what he did the motor would have had to been ripped out anyways. So the suspensions there, motor is new. Sounds like a nice car.

pretty much what he said...

with a car that has been *built* to that extreme... value is what someone is willing to pay for it..

what it started its life as has completely gone out the window  :rlaugh:
