Whats different btw the Windsor and Romeo 4.6s?

Romeo engines were in 96-98 GT's. then there was a fire that pretty much destroyed the Romeo factory. so in 99 Ford switched to the Windsor engines. in 01 they switched back to Romeos.

the Windsors have lower compression and 8 bolt cranks. the Romeos have 6 bolt cranks. as mentioned, the bolt patterns on the heads for the valve covers are different.

the Windsor lock is a bit stronger and is better if you wis to add forced induction to the stock components. the Romeos are better if you wish to go the N/A route with the stock components. however, either block is strong enough to support whatever power leval you wish to achieve realistically.
