Can't Find a Four Eye'd Fox

I got lucky with my 4-eye, I was actually on the market for an aero car. I didn't really want a 4 eye at the time (I was 17) but my dad talked be into going to look at it. We drove 2.5 hours for it. I fell in love when I turned the key and the rest is history. I'm 25 now and still have the car.

4 eye cars are getting really hard to find these days. Something to consider is just buying a aero car, building it up, and if you ever come across a good deal on a roller 4-eye down the road, just swap over the drivetrain and any other goodies you had on the aero car, and then sell it off to cover your losses.

Keep in mind that all the time you're wasting looking for the 4-eye car, you could be having fun and doing what you love with an aero car. When it comes right down to it, the headlights are the only difference.

lmfao yea i came to that realization the other day, and the aero cars were plentiful here but as soon as I said fine i'll get one. It seems there aren't any for sale. Well there is one but i'm not trying to finance a car. right now i'll accept either as long as I get my hands on a 5.0.

I've been searching for a 4-eyed foxbody Mustang since I was 16 yrs. old(I'm only 19) and the few I've found have eluded me. One was too high priced, one didn't run and the other got sold while I was on my way to test drive it. I've searched all over, but there don't seem to be any in the Charleston/North Charleston or surrounding areas. I've seen many on craigslist in Columbia however, but I'd hate to drive up there and end up not wanting it or finding out its a piece of crap. I plan on saving up 2 grand this summer and adding that with my tax return next year should get me about 6,000. I'm hoping to find a four eye'd fox for cheap before den though so I can sale my 96 v6:notnice: and get me a 5.0:D. If anyone lives in South Carolina and knows where I could find a fox that would be great. Also which years to avoid and which would be best(obviously the 86 would be best of all). I need this car I have alot planned for it.

U just gotta be patient. I have my 86 5.0 LX at home that I looked for for a year or so till I found it (in 2005) My first ever Mustant was when I was 17 and it was an 86 GT 5.0, and after that I always had them and sold them, but the old 4 eye is just my favorite too! U might have better luck looking farther, but what kinda of price range are you looking for? I WOULDNT TAKE ANYTHING BUT A FUEL INJECTED 86 5.0 IF YOU ARE SERIOSU ABOUT IT, ANY OTHER YEAR IS JUST TO UNDERPOWERED AND MUCH MORE DIFFICULT (EXPENSIVE IN COMPARISON) TO MAKE INTO WHAT YOU WANT! Where are you located??

I'm located in Charleston, SC and I agree the 86 would be the best option. My price range will be at least 2000 after this summer, but it can be more seeing as I plan on gettin a 2nd job.

:::disclaimer, this isnt 4-eyed pride:::

If i was you this is what i would do find a nice clean aero car, which you can buy way cheaper then a four eye car in the same condition, and swap the nose over of your favorite four eye. Some people look down on this but really who gives a **** its your car, make it yours and how you like it. Personally, i just like the look of the 86 nose while still having the newer moldings and interior. Just keep looking, eventually you will find something but dont settle just cause you want a car now.

And check on EBAY, i found my notch on there and my F-250, my truck i got a screamin deal on and they were both within 2.5 hours from me, dont be scared about going a long distance for something either, but before you go ask for pictures of EVERYTHING and make a decision whether your commited to buy it before you go to look at it. If the owner dosent take the time to give you pictures then obviously dont bother looking at it

EDIT: didn't see that post before me, do what he said though, you'll be much happier!

If you are looking to build a car, start with an aero stang and put a 4-eye nose on it. Everything about the car will be better. Build what you want.

wldhrse do you have any more pics of your 93?
well, maybe a couple....

Holy s**t'z you just opened a door.

:hide:

:D

Dude, I took that door off and threw it away. :uzi:

You think that's sumpin, wait til my Capri hits the streets...
:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:

actually thought about doing that and painting up like an 86 gt til I tried to find a four eye front and hood and found that people wanted 3x's more than an aero so I just replaced my aero front bumper

I have an 83 and an 86 nose in the garage!

I want an 82 GT nose for mine or even better yet a 79 pace car. I know they are the same thing, but the fact that it came from the pace car will pain the purists even more.

Well, my advice to you is just keep saving, and looking around, when they come available for sale, they usually go fast. Just keep saving, and make your goal to get a 5.0 HO 86 Stang.. At least where you live there will be less rust/rot compared to N.Y. where I'm at.. I did hear an 86 was for sale last month, but my budget is focused on my 2010 GT right now. I will keep my eyes open for something south of me w/ 4 eyes and a 5.0 HO under the hood for you!
