It is difficult to do it wrong on a Fox Body, Impossible to do wrong on an M2. There's a sticker app for S197 and later.

Bottle-brush hones are cheap though? Hell, Advance Auto Parts has a hone with three whetstones for $30 or so on the shelf, that and a little oil and you're good to go.

exactly. The guys can't afford $30 to hone out the cylinders? Step away from the damn engine then. Those rings are gonna seal and no blow by... NOT. I'm also sure none of the meta from him sanding ended up on the crank or in the pan.
