Progress Thread SN95 "Project Father & Son" 1994 GT

If you can't watch Episode 5 here are the highlights.

I make polyurethane bushings for the crapola Summit upper / lower control arm set.

We drop the rear end and install the Flowmaster Cat Back that was already fully welded. We wound up not hacking it up to install it. We were doing control arms anyway so it was just easier to lower the rear further and install the entire cat back assembled.

I removed the torn rubber bushings.

Two pieces were cut to fit inside the control arm.

Loving these videos! Can’t wait to see the springs in.
Also a few questions, what head unit are you running? It looks very nice. And slo what brand sfc did you end up receiving?
Best of luck as you continue the build

Thanks for the support, makes me want to make the videos more.

That head unit came with the car, it's touch screen, bluetooth, DVD player. I'd trade it for the stock 460W head unit and CD player. My son loves it but since this is not a daily driver and more for racing it's not needed.

The full length sub frame connectors are from Late Model. Look to be these:

Keep me posted on how they work, was thinking on those sve ones
I would love to trade but I have to stay committed to keep All my stock parts, that’s a very nice head unit though

After putting on the Cobra R Rim and seeing that dingy caliper I had to paint them all.

I'm going to need spacers all the way around, these rims are quite wide even without the tire.

can't wait to see the stance

With these crappy V6 wheels the stance is still bad looking, I mean it's lowered but the V6 make it look horrible still.

I test fitted the 17x8 as you can see above and then the 17x10.5's last night. Man it's going to be tight, I'll need a 10MM spacer to get the tire off the inner fender liner.

Looking good! Are those wheels spaced for ‘05+ Mustangs? Can’t think of why you’d need a spacer for them otherwise.

I have no idea. I don't think I'll need those bulky spacers I show in the video. If I remember correctly I used a 10MM hub spacer on my previous 94GT running 2003 Cobra rims with 275 tire out back. I'll try that first and maybe a 315 tire will be too much. May step down to a 305 or even a 295 rear tire. The rear rim is 17x10.5 and now I'm seeing that .5 of inch is quite huge. I'll figure it out.

Ran into another snag. We were driving around after the spring install and encountered smoke on the right rear.

After jumping out and giving it a look over the rotor was glowing. The caliper piston is actually stuck in the out position and dragging the inner brake pad.

I don't have the tool to retract the piston either.

We did pickup up the Steeda Clutch Firewall Adjuster so we can now install that.

I also ordered the following:
Prothane Sway Bar Bushings 27MM
Energy Sway Bar End Link Kit with Bar
Tie Rod Ends - Outer (OEM)
Tie Rod Ends - Inner (OEM)
Ball Joints (OEM)

I'm still on a suspension tear until we can clean up this slop.

Next on the agenda, Clutch Adjuster, Quadrant and Cable.
