I have an 02 Mustang GT with stock anthracite wheels and i would like to invest in tires. Can i please have some help deciding which brand and size tires to go with here. I was thinking 245/45-17 up front and 265/40-17 KDW's as this shows up as the largest tire i can put on my stock wheels. i want a good performance tire for a daily driven/street raced mustang. I think i need wider tires than that but i am not sure. Money is not an issue and i guess if i have to buy wheels with it i will. what do you guys think?

Technically a 245/45/17 is the max you should go on an 8" wide wheel...BUT some guys have sucessfully gotten away with a 275/40/17. The sidewall has some bulge in it, but it will fit

You can do 275s on the 8" rim and there will be some sidewall bulge, but it will look badass. If money wasn't an issue, then I would suggest getting a pair of anthracite deep dish 10.5" rears, with some nice 315 drag radials.

Ok... i have a black mustang GT with black leather interior.

Should i purchase...
18 x 9 Steeda Ultra-Lite Satin's and a set of kdw's for them

Or Black Deep Dish Bullitt Wheel 94-04 (18x9)

Which size up front and which size out back? Also.. why do people put deep dish on back and non deep dish up front? any difference at all?

I also heard that for best traction you want a smaller wheel with larger tire.

what are your thoughts?

The 18x9 technically are a deep dish wheel. They just don't have the same dish as the 10" wheels.

You really can't fit a 10" wheel up front in these cars. Well you could, but you could never turn.

The S197's can. I've seen some combos with 18x10's front and rear and it looks awesome

I'm loving my Bridgestone Potenza S-03's :) Awesome tire in the rain or hot weather.

However, under 40 degrees, you gotta take it easy on them for a few miles til they get a little warmth in them.
