I'm just starting to rebuild the 2100 Motorcraft carb on the 73 Mach - (351C 2V). The first thing that concerns me is the major difference between the current gaskets and the rebuild kit gaskets. The old gaskets are about 0.15 thick, with rubber bolt hole inserts. The new gaskets are 0.031 thick and appear to be missing a hole (see red arrow on old gasket).

Should I:

1. Reuse the old ones?
2. Cut the hole in the new one?
3. Find new ones of proper thickness and hole pattern like the old ones? (not sure if this is an option. The Kit came from Mustangs Unlimited).

I would try to locate the currect gasket. If you have a Napa store near you they still provide the base gasket you need.
Cool, your right. I just came back from Advance Auto Parts and they had them in stock. Granted, it's still missing that one hole, but I can drill that - otherwise it's identical - rubber bolt hole inserts and all.

Thanks :nice:
