biggest tire for a 17x9?

Ok guys i dont know if this has been asked before or not but i have genuine 17x9 03 cobras powdercoated black on my 02gt and i want to know what the absolute widest tire i can run on them is. Ive been running 275/40/17s all the way around and eventually want to get some 10.5s but that wont happen till other mods have been completed. If anybody has bigger tires on 17x9s i would like to see pics

You really need to stick with a 275, a 285 at most. I've heard of several running 315/35 Nitto 555r's on the 17x9's. The 555r's (not the regular 555s) run very narrow, so the 315 is actually like a 275 from other brands (so I've heard, don't take my word for it).

+1.... 275's are perfect for a 9 inch wheel.
