I blew the rear end in my 95 gt a whil ago. It has been sitting for 4 years. I started it up today and the drive shaft spins in nuetral, is this normal? The rear end is blown so it doesn't move it just sits and spins. I just wonder if the rear wasn't blown if it would be enough to hold it without moving. Or if it's just sat so long that the tranny is acting funny? Any input would be nice. Thanks.

When the trans is in neutral with the clutch engaged, the input shaft is still spinning inside the trans. There is no gear engagement, but the little amount of friction inside the trans may be enough to spin the driveshaft, if it is free from the rear end like you're making it sound.
