Hello i got a 82 gt 302 pretty much stock motor other than 4 barrell edelbrock carb , holly street intake, headers, underdrive pulleys. Can these heads be put on without changing anything?.
Lets ask @Dan_Soprano
I would look to see if your pistons have the valve notches aka eyebrows. That maybe a factor, I'm sure someone here will chime in with expert advice.
The plug angle is different from the stock heads. From what I understand with the stock style headers that came on the later cars, you have to run plug wires with 90 degree boots due to header interference from plug angle.
Thats correct and I'll add that there are a couple plugs that are hard to deal with, I had p's with aftermarket lts and I remember #4 be'n a challenge, they used to make headers specific to p's but not anymore that I know of.

I honestly don't know off the top of my head if the GT-40p heads will work with a stock 82 bottom end. I want to say yes they will, but not 100%. I have never messed with anything older then an 87 bottom end.

After some research, Yes they are the same. Swap away! Like boosted said though, if going more aggressive with the rockers or cam, PTV clearance need to be verified.
