guys who rebuilt their t-5's

the biggest thing I noticed was how much fluid was still in the trans after just pulling the drain plug. After taking it out I took the trans and held it over the drain pan and watched about half to 3/4 quarts of fluid come out of the back end. I took apart the case and set it in the drive way, sprayed it with degreaser, took a wire brush to the areas covered in heavy dirt and grime. high pressured it and then did it again to get it extra clean. I didnt take photos of the after but it came out nice. the gears I just wioed down the best I could. There wasnt a whole of of fliud on these after they sat out on top of a paper towel for a few hours.

i used one of those plastic tubs that are short enough to slide under the bed and some brake cleaner. the tub is big enough to fit most of the parts in and shallow enough to still get to everything.
