Heads Up Display

Anyone installed a Heads Up Display on a 96 Mustang GT? I am tired ...of replacing the speedometer gear on my wife's hotrod. I purchased an A8 (?) HUD on Ebay... it shows gas mileage and engine temp. No speed or RPM. I'm thinking the OBD for '96 did not provide that info? Thanks for any assist...

I would think it would be easier to mount a garmin or other gps in the corner of the windshield. Some may have a heads up feature? You'd have to tie into sensors etc in order to get anything stand alone. This is 1996 (pre actually) tech we are working with here.
