I would have them smoke the tacky 'mustang' side stripe or come up with a better design...it looks like crap...
Second...
Add some actual side scoops. We all know they aren't functional but even the classic '60s era had some assemblance of them...
Third...
Some color keyed mirrors would be a nice touch. They don't have to paint the whole thing, but when they introduced the fold-away, color-keyed ones on the '03 Cobra and continued them with '04 40th Anniversay Package, it really set the car off right.
Fourth...
I think the back end is just a little too bare. Maybe a nice 'honeycomb' style insert in between the taillights would be good. Or maybe a rear bumper redesign to reincorporate the 'MUSTANG' imprint so these honda guys can know what beat em! Possibly a spoiler redesign? LOL! :
Fifth...
The classic spoked rims with the spinners looked good on the classic but doesnt quite fit the bill on the '05. At least with that much sidewall blaring at you on the tires. All the major car companies these days are running a minimum of 17's on their cars now. So, maybe a standard 17 in package for V6s and GT Deluxe with an optional 18 in upgrade with the GT Premiums. If you can get a set of stock, good-looking, 17in rims on a freakin' Mazda 3...why not a Mustang?
In Conclusion, the overall appearance looks awesome and poses tons of potential for aftermarket goodies. However, the little things can REALLY help the car remain a classic. I personally think the hottest cars are always the ones that look as 'stock as possible.'
P.S. (O.T.) Although the Ford truck/SUV line is hot and the Mustang is a good car...Somebody PUH-LEASSSSEEE tell Ford that their other cars fall waaaay behind the curve on looks and performance (i.e. Crown Vic, Focus, Five-Hundred). When compared to Acura, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, and even Dodge and GM vehicles (especially Pontiac). Ford is seriously faltering!!! Maybe they should start to take a little more ideas from their 30% of Mazda shares and bring some of their stuff here?
That's just my opinion...I could be wrong!
