It was gonna be a nice evening so I decided to load the car up and head to the track. A friend was taking his new heads/cam Camaro SS to run to see what it would do. Track was dead! Musta been a crappy DA night, I dunno, need to learn how to figure that stuff out. There was a brand new Boss 302 with the window stickers still on the window with drag radials and skinnies. First pass I watched it ran 11.9 at 117 then the rest were around low 12's at 116ish.

So anyways back to me, I decided this time I would pull the front sway bar and rear spare tire to see if the weight loss and bar off would help transfer some weight off the line this time. Ended up making 5 passes tonight. Temps were 75*-80* and a little sticky

1st pass off trailer tried 15psi in et streets and spun like crazy

1.95 60'
8.018 1/8
92.55 1/8
12.21 1/4
118.23 1/4

Dropped tire pressure to 10psi this time and spun again(Car swayed top end going down the track)

1.74 60'
7.733 1/8
92.13 1/8
11.97 1/4
116.95 1/4

Bumped tire pressure to 12psi and yet spun again

1.828 60'
7.93 1/8
91.46 1/8
12.16 1/4
117.47 1/4

Let car cool for almost a hour and tried 13 psi and yup spun

1.869 60'
7.91 1/8
91.49 1/8
12.14 1/4
117.38 1/4

Back in line for one more pass left tires alone spun of course

1.882 60'
7.93 1/8
91.66 1/8
12.16 1/4
117.29 1/4

Car is very consistant thats for sure. When I ran my 3 11.91's and then an 11.89 all my 60's were 1.64-1.69's car was hooking crazy that day. So something changed since then, not sure but car just would not hook today like it did before. I was trying to launch at 5 grand but that didnt work so backed down to 4ish and still spun unlike before.

Also noticed across the stripe car was only making 6-7 pounds(making 10 pounds at redline in all other gears), of course I never looked at the rpm's cause I was more focused on what I was doing. So the car either needs more power or gearing to get it closer to redline across the stripe, just not enough up top I guess.

All in all I had a great night, car went home in one piece and got lots of comments on the car!

Vid's coming soon! Uploading them now!

Videos done yet?

ET street radials or bias ply?

I think it could possibly be that you aren't getting enough heat in them but we'll see from the video. Getting a good 2nd gear burnout in them?

I NEVER ran my et streets (bias ply) at 10psi on my setup (mostly around 18-20psi) which is likely why you got that sway on the top end.

Still trying to get the videos loaded on my computer haha sorry. Et street bias ply tires not the radials. Trust me, they got heated, you will see from the video, I was actually wondering if there was something as to hot for the tires? But then again I did a rear seat delete, s I am wondering if I lost to much weight over the rear end and now its not hooking cause of that. Or maybe I was getting to greedy and tring to launch it way to hard
