Please review the estimate below. We would suggest using slightly lower compression, about 9.25. If you put 10lbs of boost through this engine, you will probably have closer to 550hp, rather than 450. We use our DSS Pro-Lite pistons, which are much more streetable than the JE pistons. If tuned in right, this combination of parts makes a great street/strip car. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

What got at me first is when I filled out the form I orginally said AFR 185 heads.
How much difference is there between those and the heads they put on the list?


Remember, I'm still shopping around so I would really appreciate all your opinions, feedback, suggestions, whatever. BTW, do you think this price is resonable or should I shop somewhere else? If I should go someplace different please provide a link to the company. Oh in case you didn't see, I was planning to do a 331 build with a possible turbo next year.

hey pm rick 91gt he can build you a better mottor than them and it would be cheaper with better quality parts

What really sucks is how much of that is labor costs. Aside from the block machining and head work, you could build that motor yourself for a couple grand less just buying the parts. I myself havent learned enough to build a motor but if i had the cash i'd sure as hell try!

I wouldnt be surprised if a company would try to push certain products like those heads on customers if they can get them cheaper than what you want. Although, if they pay more they'd just charge you more, but you never know.

wut are you looking for i know where you can get a bored out 302 to 308 shipped for 900 has stock conecting rods and fedral mogeul bearins keith black pistons ect.306 for 800 both already built

ya check the depth before you dive in. . . you ashould lok around a bit more before a pruchase is made. I would consider CHP also and maybe even rick (91gt) as an alternate builder.

Those arseholes are smokin crack.........no, sorry, whoever pays that much for an engine, they are smokin crack! What are they doing? Flying in a team of engineers from NASA?

I would bet the majority of their staff are : uneducated, young people making poor wages, they probably are doing the brunt of the work.....they may have a few qualified people around who double check things, but that ain't no custom race motor, nor is it a real custom build. Insane prices!
