No offense but the red stang with the single stage probably doesnt look so great paint wise in person. Single stage will fade a lot faster and if you attempt to rub it or buff it youll pull paint off since theres no seperate clear coat. One good thing about a good cheap single stage over a cheap base coat/ clear coat is with the single stage theres less material to sand off lol and makes good guide coat for blocking the wavy doors and shoddy body work.
I got a car in my garage getting ready for paint...there are no windows, trim, door handles, hatch, fenders, hood atteached right now....just a shell...thats how you properly prep a car for paint.

I beg your pardon? The car was BEAUFITUL.. The paint looked awesome. I didn't even wetsand it as there was vitually NO orangepeal. I have had plenty of cars painted 1 stage from macco. One car i kept for a few years - no fading what so ever.
Also i used to buff that car with polish all the time. Never once did i EVER have paint come off. I think your logic on one stage paint is skewed.

sooo svt i thought you were the one sayying bc/cc was the only way to go for black? this 89 is black and is getting sprayed black, thats why we said bc/cc.. right? would a single be better? like enough coats of it.?
I've hear the best way to get a DEEP black is to spray it single stage, let it cure. Wet sand it with 1000 grit and then put three coats of clear coat on it and then wet sand and buff that. I heard that is a sick way to make a really deep black.
I am painter at a busy collision shop in the seattle area...I know what Im talking about. Dont get mad at me cause I said single stage sucks...I know been there done that. Im speaking from expierence...so when ever you puta a Sata Jet or Iwatta in your hand and lay paint down talk to me. Single stage does not have the uv protection that bc/cc has as well..I could go on and on but whatever I know I make money to do real paint jobs and you dont.
And the dude toting he has a degree in this...wow!..I do to...Ya know what it doesnt mean crap when you get out of school and go work at a shop. Ive been at it the same amount of time as you.
