Progress Thread My Kenne Bell Twin Screw'd Foxbody thread, (new addition to the family)

My driveshaft was shortened for my IRS install. I marked where it slid in and then measured from there to where the seal lip rode. Can't remember the measurement... I also have a FRPP aluminum driveshaft.

The reason I had mine shortened was for seal and vibration issues.
How much did you shorten it? I'm thinking I need about an inch removed.

I had mine done at a place in Baltimore called Tex Welding. It could've been as 1/4 inch longer...but I've had no problems at all. The more length of splines inside the better. From my knowledge it needs at least 1 inch past the seal. The surface also needs to be clean and smooth. Scotch brite works well.

Like the girls say " the more in the hole the better ". Well, you don't want to rupture any seals or cause any uncontrollable vibrations, might shake something' loose. Lol
