I have replaced several clutches in my day, but still I'm just 22 years old:)

Now I'm helping a friend from my church with replacing his clutch on his 96-98 3.8L mustang.

I have replaced several 5.0L clutches and a couple 4.6L clutches. They all seem pretty much like the same swap.

So basically take all the parts off, get to the clutch. Remove and torque it to 24 ft lbs right. I need the alignment tool (what size is it)?

I need a stock OEM style clutch but I don't want the price tag of a Ford Dealership.

Any ideas?

What else may I need?

I also want to make sure that the clutch pedal assembly all works like OEM. I want to make sure there is no slack in the clutch pedal.

Basically what I'm saying is, will I need to 'adjust' anything or should everything bolt up and no adjustments needed.

Well I'm helping an adult at my church out, and I don't think he wants all this extra stuff. I'm trying to help him save money.

As long as the clutch performs like it does OEM, it will be just fine:)
