older style rockers install

i have a 331 powered 88 ford ranger than due to a stuck thermostat nuked a headgasket. im down to installing the rockers and just want top make sure i do it right. any tips? the heads are the older style with the rocker studs that are pressed into the head rather than the later bolt in style. someone was telling me to just slap em all in fire the truck and turn em 1 at a time till they shut up... i really dont like the sound of that....any help is greatly appreciated

That's the gist of it. See if you can get ahold of an extra junk valve cover and cut the top off it. Keeps oil from getting all over while making adjustments. Good luck.
