While I am on free-mod spree, I was wondering if there is any use of the factory GT hood. By this I mean of course, can I somehow make the scoop useable?

Underneath the hood, there is a material covering the hood, but from the looks of it, I think it is grounded to the car. Can I cut a hole in that material, as well as the hood, and make it functional?

Or can I take that material off (that cover) and just cut a hole in the hood.

OR -> Should I just buy a mach1 hood or something. :)

TIA guys!

One last thing, recommend me a good catback and some springs! I want to begin work on my stang as winter sets. :)

Yes you can do it.

Drill out the holes in the hood scoop grill and then just cut a hole in the hood.

But there really isn't any benefit. When it rains, you'll be blowing dirt and rain down onto your engine.

I cut the hole in my hood, then again I have the CDC kit pics are in my sig. As far as drilling holes and making it functional I wouldnt, you have to buy drain tubes and whatever else to fab it to the factory air box.
KarKraft sells a kit that requires you to buy a mach 1 hood and makes the shaker and ram air funtional.
