shift light or tach + shift ligh

I also agree that a huge 5" tach does look a littler ricerish. I do like them...but not for my car.


In my 5.0, i have a small Autometer shift light with RPM pills. I set the correct pill in and shift when the light comes on. No tach needed.

Go with an autometer mini shift light and module.
I don't like the look of a big tach either.

The tach probably does a full sweep when you turn the ignition on.

kinda like the stock one, just not that far up... i think mine jumps to about 3k maybe 35oo... makes since tho, i still wouldnt be suprised if he did tho

I saw 7k in my car a few months back....for reasons that are beyond me, it stayed in one piece and doesn't even tick.

Only way you guys are actually seeing over 7000 RPM is without a rev limiter, or stuffing it into the wrong gear. My friend didnt have a limiter on his fox, and pulled it out of gear going down the track. Lets just say 7500+ RPM on a stockish motor will bend or break something. He had a bent pushrod we replaced before the next round, but there was more damage Im sure!

No it didn't see 7500....I was playing with the settings and took that pic at 7500.....But one time I hit recall after racing my buddy and it hit the limmiter. Oh and yes that pony is squeezing out little chevy bowties

I was very angry and had to push start the car and when it fired over i matted the gas, and no i don't have a limiter.
