Does anybody know the stock cam specs for a 170 or 200 six (or any stock mild inline 6 cylinder engine)? I'm taking an engines class in school and I lost 2 points on a test because I said the exhaust valve should be closed 5* after TDC on the intake stroke.:bs: They taught us that it should still be open, which might be true on a high-enough performance camshaft, but I believe that a stock cam should have it closed by then. I'm sure somebody has that info or knows where to find it. Thanks.

i dont have teh specs in front of me, but i do believe that you are right. in fact every cam i have looked at regarding seat to seat valve timing, the exhaust valve has always closed atdc on the intake stroke. some cams where the specs are given at .050 lift though show the exhaust valve closing btdc, though barely.
