tire problem 01 gt rims on notch

I don't really know how to size the tire and my tires are in need of changing,but also need a little more traction so looking for a little widder and fatter tire. i have 245/45/17 and got a deal on some new BF goodrich T/A 275/40/17 or very slightly used 315/35/17.What will fit!?its an 89 notch and asn't been lowered or any suspension upgrades exept for battle boxes and subframes.any info greatly appreciated.

the 275 is all youll fit on that 01 GT rim. Thats all that wont rub too. You may have to flip the quads tho.
